Dr. Marcus L. Gann Jr., M.D., is Memorial Hospital's General S
urgeon. His
expertise is in the diagnosis and care of patients with diseases and disorders
affecting almost any area of the body, such as the abdomen, digestive tract,
endocrine systems, breast, and skin. He is also trained in the care of
pediatric, cancer, injured and critically ill patients.
Working closely with the patient's primary care physician, Dr. Gann provides diagnostic, pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care. He also has a strong relationship with area cancer centers and can refer patients to specialists as needed.

Memorial Hospital offers endoscopic procedures such as an EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) or a Colonoscopy. These types of procedures can be performed with comfort and ease as an outpatient surgery. Memorial Hospital now offers Wireless Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy. This high-tech device contains a camera in the capsule that collects data and sends it to a recorder worn on the patient's waist. Images are then downloaded at the physician's office.
