Chaplain Program - Back to top
A volunteer program in which local chaplains provide spiritual support to patients, family members, and staff. This can include being a compassionate and non-judgmental listener, praying with patients, and offering encouragement and support.
Memorial Health System Volunteer Corps - Back to top
Be part of the Memorial Health System Volunteer Corps. This organization was established in 1992 and is a member of the Kansas Hospital Auxiliaries and the Hospital Auxiliaries of Kansas. There are over 70 active volunteers throughout the community who offer support services to Memorial Hospital. Volunteers help with tasks such as assisting at the patient information desk, performing clerical duties in various hospital departments, knitting baby caps and blankets for newborns at the hospital, and providing products for sale in the gift shop.
Summer Youth Program - Back to top
This program is designed especially for students ages 14 to 18 years. This unique program is sponsored by the Memorial Health System Volunteer Corps. It offers students an opportunity to volunteer in various Memorial Health System departments. This is the perfect way for students interested in a health care career to obtain first-hand experience.
The different areas to volunteer may broaden a person’s medical knowledge. For example, a student may learn about blood work in the Laboratory or may experience a new technology in the Radiology department. The student may share invaluable moments with patients in the ROSE unit or may learn how fitness can help people of all ages at Impact Sports and Fitness.
The Summer Youth Program is held from the first Monday in June through the second Friday in August. Orientation is held the first Monday in June.
Applications for the Summer Youth Program are available at the Memorial Hospital information desk.
