Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County periodically offers a Monday night Bereavement Group that focuses on the period of grief and transition following the loss of a loved one. Guidance is provided toward learning and coping skills. Time is allowed for sharing personal experiences. The public is welcome to attend. The sessions are free; however, a donation to cover the cost of materials would be gratefully accepted. Persons interested in the support group are encouraged to bring along a supportive partner. Pre-registration is not required. Anyone with questions should contact Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County at 785-263-6630 in Abilene.

This group meets on the first Monday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Home Health and Hospice Office, 515 NE 10th, Abilene. Open to anyone coping with the loss of a loved one.
Diabetes Support Group - Back to top
The Dickinson County Diabetes Support group meets at Memorial Hospital to provide education and support to diabetic individuals and their loved ones. Each month a program is presented by a health care professional on a diabetes-related topic such as meal planning, proper foot care, fitness, eye care, tracking blood sugars, and more. For more information, contact the Memorial Health System registered dietitian at 785-263-6676. This program is provided in cooperation with the American Diabetes Association and the Kansas State Research and Extension, Dickinson County.

Be part of “Memorial Hospital Lunch Bunch” and attend the Healthwise 55 meetings. As people age, their health profile changes. The topics presented by health care professionals will be tailored to the needs of people 55 and over.

This is a running group that meets at The Impact Sports and Fitness before beginning their run. Anyone (members or nonmembers) can be a part of this group at no charge.
